Welcome to North Scottsdale Acupuncture

Welcome to the modern concept of quality in healthcare. As the current healthcare system crumbles, a new world of ancient wisdom united with modern science emerges. North Scottsdale Acupuncture is founded on the principle that all people can heal. We believe that there is no illness that cannot be benefited by acupuncture, herbal remedies, dietary & life style changes, and most of all an optimistic, energetic and holistic approach to the problem.

Chinese medicine is about fixing the whole body, looking at all systems simultaneously. At North Scottsdale Acupuncture, you the patient have a say in the outcomes. We work together to prioritize treatment strategies so that you the patient have a role in restoring your own health. You will be empowered to resume authority over your own well being. That is our highest goal.
Chinese medicine is a complete system of diagnosis, treatments, prevention and recovery that is based on an entirely different paradigm of the human body. We view the human body as an integrated whole, that is greater than the sum of its parts. We do not fix patients on a disease, as though it were a permanent condition. We know that all things in this universe are in flux, in a state of constant change. Disease is nothing more than the body stuck in a situation and in need of assistance in moving it along.

We provide that assistance…

Chinese Herbal medicine

There are thousands of Chinese herbs. These herbs have been in use for a 4000 year history (at least). The administration of these herbs is both an art and a science. The approach to using herbs in Chinese medicine follows a logical paradigm about how imbalances are created and in what order they should be resolved. This is known as treatment strategy.

Many of the herbal formulas are designed for a set of symptoms which are commonly found in specific diseases. Typically there are a few possible pathways for a disease to come about. It is the practitioner’s job to discern what dynamic is occurring in a particular patient in order to devise an effective strategy. The practitioner then must continually monitor progress to determine at what point it is necessary to modify the treatment, taper the dosage, or conclude the therapy.

There have been great advances in Chinese medicine with the use of data collection from clinical trials to inform us of the most effective treatments and in the development of modern formulas for modern diseases. These are diseases which result from the faulty diets and uniquely modern lifestyles of many of our patients. Chinese medicine continues to evolve in every moment…
